a big little update

I guess I'm a 'lil behind on things and have not posted any pictures for.... quite a while!

This one of the grass and snow is from January 7. It was getting too dark for these shots so it's a little blurry.

This one is from January 8. We had snow the
night before I flew so the planes there, in Colorado Springs, had to be de-iced before we could fly. The lighting was beautiful that morning and I took some pictures of the work and the mountains as I waited for my flight.

I spend several days home alone here at Craig & Alicia's, so I pass the time by cooking. January 9

Love birds-Jan 12

Josh & Carissa came by after going through a battle area from the Civil War (there are allot around here!) with a metal detector, and showed us what they found.

This picture was born just a few minutes ago...
I need to comb my hair. (I haven't yet today)

Jan 5 & 6

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain

January 3 & 4

The Clock of Life
by Robert H. Smith, copyright 1932, 1982

The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one's health is more,
To lose one's soul is such a loss
That no man can restore.

The present only is our own,
So live, love, toil with a will,
Place no faith in "Tomorrow,"
For the Clock may then be still.

"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words
but cannot remain silent."

January 1 & 2

January 1, 2008
A friend of mine tells me that there is a superstition in the Philippines (or was it China?) that claims that jumping up and down on New Years day will make you taller. I tried it. Does it work?

January 2, 2008

"Love and Joy come to you and to you your wassail too.. And God Bless you and send you a Happy New Year!"

What?

So what's this blog all about, anyway?!
As of January 1, 2008 (can you believe it, 2008 already?) I have decided to take a picture a day for all of this year. So far, so good. I went outside for a walk in hopes to get a good picture for today, and came back with 108 pictures. Now to choose which will be the selected "January 2" photo!

Here is the resting place of the daily photos.

Hopefully you're inspired to do this too-if you are, leave me a comment so I can see yours, too!
